Hurst’s receive recognition for BIM progress


On 16th February 2015, Hurst were recognised at the Houses of Parliament for our efforts towards being a ‘BIM ready’ company by incorporate BIM protocols into our company procedures.

The ceremony honoured the work of the 16 exemplar companies including George Hurst and Sons and 77 BIM Champions including our very own Kay Botcherby and Dean Glazzard who took part in both the BIM Exemplar Programme and BIM Champion Programme. Continue reading

Vehicle Sharing will Lower CO2 Emissions and Save Money

G Hurst & Sons have committed to improving the environmental performance of its fleet of company vehicles by embarking on a programme of improvement. As part of this process, vehicles have been fully fitted with trackers and upgraded to more fuel efficient vehicles with additional seats to allow the vehicle sharing scheme to be implemented more effectively. Crew buses are also being introduces to maximise the positive impact of the scheme. Continue reading

Site Managers Demonstrate Continuous Improvement Through the Considerate Constructors Scheme


During 2014 and into 2015, more and more of our sites are being registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS). The Board of Directors at Hurst’s have made a concious decision to use the scheme as a tool to raise standards, both on our construction sites and in the office, with a focus on providing support and assistance to our site managers.
