George Hurst & Sons is a well established company with its feet firmly in the 21st Century.

Whether you are looking to extend, refurbish or construct an outstanding building that will enhance the capabilities of your organisation you will need a company with the ability to deliver your building requirements.

We can work to the design and specification of a client-appointed design team or we can develop a full design and build package solution to meet your needs or performance criteria. From the outset we have a policy of openly identifying any cost or design risks that can arise on a particular project and of agreeing mutually acceptable ways of mininising, managing and sharing those risks. During construction we employ our own people and only subcontract specialist works so that we are able to apply our own exacting standards of quality on the work we produce. We also adopt an open-book method of contracting (regardless of contract type) so that our clients can see and understand the actual costs being incurred on their projects at any time.

We utilise the latest software technology in planning and programming our site works around your time-scales and to meet the stringent requirements of the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan in order that all work is carried out safely and with the least disruption to your organisation. A significant part of our work is carried out in and around live buildings where special care and attention must be paid to the safety and convenience of the people using the building. This is especially important on our school and hospital projects.

We are well aware of our environmental obligations and in the autumn of 2008 we attained accreditation for Stages 1 to 3 of BS 8555 by establishing our environmental targets. In 2009 we achieved accreditation of Stages 4 and 5 and ISO 14001 demonstrating that we have met those targets.
